Commerce Bank Celebrates National Library Week with Gift to Benefit the Woodrow Wilson Library
Fairfax,
VA – On Friday, April 18, Commerce Bank celebrated
National Library Week by making a $4,000 donation to the Fairfax Library
Foundation for the Woodrow Wilson Library. Sheila Janega, branch
manager and Kathryn Young, assistant branch manager of the Woodrow
Wilson Library in Falls Church, and Bobbi Longworth, executive director
of the Fairfax Library Foundation, accepted the donation from Jim Harrison,
regional market manager; Kurt Frogale, Vienna store manager and Jason
Huynh, Seven Corners assistant store manager. The Commerce team
created a festive atmosphere with a literary gift of the book ‘Bunny
Money’ in addition to financial support.
The Woodrow Wilson Library will utilize the donation to enhance youth programs utilizing technology. “This gift is will have a notable impact,” Janega says, adding that, “the donation will benefit many young people served by the Woodrow Wilson Library branch.”
Mason District Supervisor, Penny Gross stated, “Our public library system provides access to a world of opportunities, regardless of birthplace or economic status. Commerce Bank’s generous support is deeply appreciated and extends the partnership between Fairfax County government, residents, and businesses as we work together to improve and celebrate our community for today and tomorrow.”

The library donations from Commerce Bank are made through the TD Banknorth Foundation. Subject to regulatory approvals, Commerce Bank will become known as TD Commerce Bank.
