Academic Scholarships

The Fairfax Library Foundation's Friends Scholarship Fund provides several academic scholarships each year, dependant on the availability of funds. The awards are for $3,000 plus a special Edwin S. Clay, III award in the amount of $3,500.

The Edwin S. Clay, III scholarship has been named in Edwin 'Sam' Clay's honor as a special recognition of more than twenty-five years of exceptional service and dedication to Fairfax County Public Library. Sam leads our library system that has been named among the "Top Library Systems in the Nation."

Congratulations to these Masters of Library Science students at Catholic University of America, University of North Texas, and Florida State University who were awarded  2009 Academic Scholarships!

The 2009 recipient of the Edwin S. Clay, III Academic Scholarship, was Amal K. Morsy, Information Assistant, City of Fairfax Regional Library, studying at the Catholic University of America.

Continuing Education Scholarships

The Fairfax Library Foundation's Friends Scholarship Fund provides several full or partial scholarships a year ranging from $150 to $1,000 to support the continuing education of individuals within the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) System.
