The owner of CakeLove and Love Café and former host of Sugar Rush on the Food Network, Brown is the author of CakeLove: How to Bake Cakes from Scratch and the soon-to-be published United Cakes of America: Recipes Celebrating Every State.

Brown completed undergraduate studies at Brown University in 1993 with a B.A. in history and graduate studies at the George Washington University in 1998 with a juris doctor and a master's in public health.

In 2000 Brown left his career as a lawyer litigating health care fraud on behalf of the federal government to pursue a dream and start a business. He founded CakeLove in 2002.

In 2006 he was recognized with the Small Business Person of the Year award for Washington, D.C. by the Small Business Association. In 2005 and 2006 his bakery won the best bakery category in the Washington Post’s Best Bets readers’ poll.

His entrepreneurial spirit has been celebrated on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “The Today Show,” as well as in People Magazine, Southern Living, Black Enterprise, Inc., Washington Post and many other media outlets.
