Amazon Wish List & First Loan Program
FIRST LOAN PROGRAM & AMAZON SMILE

The Fairfax Library Foundation's Amazon Wish List is a quick and tangible way to make a difference for your library! Purchasing a book from the Wish List helps fill the shelves of the 23 branches of the Fairfax County Public Library with the books the library staff know we need most. With this contribution option, you can even be the first to read the book through our First Loan Program, and provide opportunities for other library patrons to read it as well. All books purchased will be marked with a general bookplate to commemorate your generosity.

First Loan Program

Purchasing a book from the Amazon Wish List comes with an opportunity to be the first to read a current best seller while helping stock the library shelves for other avid readers. Here’s how:

  • Visit FLF's Amazon Wish List.

  • Select the books you want to add to the Library’s collection, then proceed to checkout.

  • At checkout, under "Choose a shipping address" be sure to select the radial button for "Fairfax County Public Library Tech Ops' Gift Registry Address".

  • In the gift message box under "Choose gift options" you must include the following information:

    • The words "FIRST LOAN"

    • The library branch where you wish to pick up the book

    • Your email address

    • Your library card number

    • For example, a completed card will look something like this:

  • Complete your purchase. Once the book arrives at the branch, you will receive a notice that the “First Loan” book is on hold for you! Be aware that the item can only be held for seven (7) days. If not retrieved, it will be provided to the next person in the holds queue.
