They Met The Master and Benefitted Their Library in the Process.

CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA — On the Mount Olympus of living American novelists, few sit higher than bestselling author and Fairfax County favorite son, David Baldacci. Last Saturday morning, September 30, fans of his work had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet him face-to-face at Chantilly Regional Library. The intimate, ticket-only event was a part of the Beyond the Book series of fundraisers hosted by Fairfax Library Foundation.

Baldacci, the author of nearly 50 bestsellers—including his latest novels, The 6:20 Man, Long Shadows, and Simply Lies—charmed the 50 lucky ticketholders in attendance with humorous stories from his career, revelations about his creative process, and the future of intellectual property in the face of Artificial Intelligence.

The event kicked off Fairfax County Public Library’s Local Author Book Festival at which Baldacci was the featured speaker that day.

Since 1994, the Fairfax Library Foundation has existed solely with the mission to enhance the programs and services of the Fairfax County Public Library, the largest public library system in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization, the Foundation provides supplementary support to the community by providing access to information, technology, innovations, civic engagement and entertainment, and by offering literacy and educational opportunities.
