McLEAN, VIRGINIA — Fifty or so fortunate fiction fans were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience when Fairfax Library Foundation hosted a V.I.P. meet-and-greet with bestselling author S. A. Cosby on February 21, at the McLean Community Center. The intimate, ticket-only fundraiser preceded Fairfax County Public Library’s author talk and booksigning with Cosby at The Alden Theatre that afternoon.
Cosby, a The New York Times bestselling author from southeastern Virginia, has gained widespread national recognition for his novel All the Sinners Bleed, which appeared on more than 40 “Best of the Year” lists, including one curated by former President Barack Obama. His previous works included Razorblade Tears, an Edgar Award finalist, and Blacktop Wasteland.
Attendees enjoyed refreshments and intimate, face-to-face interaction with Mr. Cosby, who was extremely generous with his time. The event was part of the Beyond the Books series of V.I.P. author events sponsored by Fairfax Library Foundation.
Since 1994, the Fairfax Library Foundation has existed solely with the mission to enhance the programs and services of the Fairfax County Public Library, the largest public library system in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization, the Foundation provides supplementary support to the community by providing access to information, technology, innovations, civic engagement and entertainment, and by offering literacy and educational opportunities.
