ANNANDALE, VIRGINIA — Recipients of Fairfax Library Foundation’s 2024 scholarships were recognized on Wednesday, May 8, at the Fairfax County Library Board of Trustees’ monthly meeting. This year’s awardees included 16 undergraduate recipients and 4 recipients of scholarships for staff development.
During the meeting Trustees Chair Brian Engler recognized each recipient individually and presented each with a certificate. Fairfax Library Foundation Chair Miriam Smolen and Executive Director Lisa Bryant were on hand to congratulate recipients, along with Foundation Scholarship Committee Chair Jennifer L. Disano.

Annually, the Fairfax Library Foundation awards three different scholarships to current library staff and volunteers in Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax. To date, the Foundation has awarded $249,000 to 89 graduate students, $198,000 to 153 undergraduate students, and $93,000 to 243 library employees for staff development.
